Brigadier Sikandar Hayat Chaudhry, Regional Director Punjab, Anti-Narcotics Force, has revealed that “the religious madrasas of Punjab are drug-free, no evidence of drug selling or buying was found in any of the 500 madrasas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, but this element is found in most of the universities, colleges and even schools of Punjab. Global ranking of country's universities is increasing day by day, that is why they are targeting the youth studying in educational institutions.” he expressed these views while addressing a seminar on awareness about narcotics abuse and its prevention, which was organized in collaboration with UET Model United Nation Society (UET-MUN) and UET Anti-Narcotics Task Force Committee.

In the seminar, Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences, humanities, and Islamic Studies Prof. Dr. Shahid Rafiq, Registrar Muhammad Asif, Director Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Qaisar, Chief Security Officer Lt. Col. (R) Ajaz Ahmad Quraishi TI (M), Advisor UET-MUN Society Dr. Ali Hussain Kazim, Heads of teaching and non-teaching departments and a large number of students participated.

Brigadier Sikandar Hayat further said that, “ANF took the bill to the Assembly in 2005 to give strict punishments to drug dealers.
