The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore successfully conducted a one-day training workshop titled "Patent Drafting and Filing" on June 17, 2025. The event took place in the conference room near the Vice Chancellor's Office from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM and was attended by 30 nominated faculty members from various departments.

The training was organized in collaboration with the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), aiming to enhance faculty capacity in intellectual property rights and the technicalities of patent documentation. Ms. Shakra, a distinguished representative from the Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) of Pakistan, served as the keynote speaker and led the workshop sessions with insightful presentations and practical guidance.

The event concluded with a closing address by the Vice Chancellor of UET Lahore, who appreciated the enthusiastic participation of faculty members and emphasized the importance of intellectual property in academic and industrial innovation. During the ceremony, certificates were distributed among participants by the Vice Chancellor, joined by Dr. Naveed Ramzan, Dean, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, and Dr. Muhammad Asif Rafique, Director ORIC. The training marks a significant step in strengthening UET's research commercialization initiatives and promoting a culture of innovation and legal protection of intellectual assets.
