UET Lahore organized the National Summit on Student Leadership on Wednesday, 31st January 2024 in Masood Hall Electrical Engineering Department. The student delegates from various universities (GCU, LCWU, UVAS, UoL, UE) attended the summit along with student society leaders from UET Lahore. Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser, Director of Students Affairs UET was the Trainer and Lead Resource Person. Opening the summit, Prof. Qaiser highlighted the need to inculcate leadership skills in students through social activities and group projects. The students’ delegates undertook the Strengths Finder Assessment completed a self Leadership Practices Inventory Survey and reflected on the results. Prof. Qaiser delivered a 3-hour long Workshop on Student Leadership Challenges and highlighted Five Best Practices of Student Leadership through an interactive session. These practices include Modeling the Way, Inspiring a Shared Vision, Challenging the Process, Encouraging Others to Act, and Encouraging the Heart. The students performed various leadership activities for experiential learning through reflection. The representatives from various universities also participated in a Panel Discussion focusing on the students’ experiential learning at various campuses and inculcating leadership skills in the students. Concluding the summit, Prof. Qaiser declared the summit a successful event by thanking the participants. He emphasized objectivity in the student activities for experiential learning and made Reflection a part of these activities. At the end, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shoaib, Dean of Electrical Engineering, UET Lahore distributed the certificates among the students.
