Korean Delegation Visits UET Lahore to Boost Academic Cooperation
A Korean delegation, led by Korean Ambassador and accompanied by officials from the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), visited the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore and met with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir to discuss academic collaborations.
During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of fostering student exchanges and collaborative research in areas of mutual interest. The Korean ambassador highlighted the strong, productive, and uninterrupted bilateral relations between Pakistan and South Korea, stating that these ties could greatly enhance educational collaboration between the two nations. Dr. Shahid Munir underscored UET Lahore’s international reputation and its appeal to students from various countries.
He explained that UET actively maintains partnerships with national and international institutions to enhance technical capabilities. He affirmed the university’s openness to faculty and student exchanges, as well as to signing agreements for joint research initiatives. The Korean delegation expressed confidence in South Korea’s strength in the field of engineering and encouraged Pakistani institutions to benefit from it. They assured that the Korean embassy is keenly interested in facilitating these partnerships and will support the development of academic ties between institutions in both countries. The meeting concluded with Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Munir presenting an honorary shield to the Korean ambassador as a token of appreciation.
