The Department of Chemistry, in collaboration with the Pakistan-US Alumni Network (PUAN), hosted the International Conference on "Preserving Our Planet: Strategies for Environmental Conservation & Combatting Climate Change." This significant event united distinguished researchers and environmentalists to discuss innovative strategies and present cutting-edge research addressing pressing environmental challenges.  The conference commenced with a welcome address by Conference Chair, Prof. Dr. Farhat Yasmin, followed by an impactful keynote address from Chief Guest Mr. Syed Zahid Aziz, Managing Director of PMDFC. Mr. Aziz underscored the urgency of the climate crisis, a message that resonated deeply with attendees and set a tone of urgency and commitment for the sessions ahead. The event's prestige was elevated by the presence of Ms. Zahra Khurram, Vice President of the Pakistan-US Alumni Network, along with numerous PUAN members. Esteemed deans, respected chairs, distinguished faculty members, and enthusiastic students also attended, enhancing the conference's significance. Prof. Dr. Aneela Anwar, PUAN Activity Lead, emphasized the essential role of such gatherings in the global fight against climate change.
