First Automotive Engineering Congress and Exposition held at University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore by Automotive Engineering Center. The Congress was inaugurated by Governor Punjab and Chancellor UET Engr. Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman. US Consul General Ms. Kristin K. Hawkins also participated in the Congress as special guest. Vice Chancellor UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Nasir Hayat, Deans of all Faculties, Heads of various Departments, teaching and administrative staff and a large number of students participated in the Congress.

The AUTOCONEX was comprised of three perspectives including industrial exhibition, student research submissions and talks by industry experts, in which Millat Tractors, Honda, Jolta Electric, Road Prince and various auto electric companies set up their stalls and exhibited their electric bikes, electric cars, tractors, scooters, and motorcycles etc., while students from all over Pakistan submitted their research in the field of automotive, and industry experts also addressed the students.

At the end of the inauguration ceremony, Governor Punjab along with the Vice Chancellor paid a visit to industry stalls and automotive lab. Later, the Vice Chancellor presented souvenirs to the chief guests and other participants.
