Chairman WAPDA Engr Lt Gen Sajjad Ghani (Retd) visited University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore and had a meeting with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman at Vice Chancellor Office. During his visit, ways and means to establish effective linkages between the University and WAPDA for development of water and hydropower resources in the country were discussed.

Later, Chairman WAPDA accompanied by Vice Chancellor UET Lahore also visited Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Engineering (CEWRE) where Director of the Centre Dr. Muhammad Atiq-ur-Rehman Tariq briefed him about role and contribution of the Centre and research facilities available there. They had a detailed visit of the hydraulic laboratories of CEWRE. They also witnessed the performance of the gadgets designed and developed by the Centre for automated water measurement. At the end of the visit souvenirs were exchanged between the parties.
