CEWRE of UET Lahore Organized a Hybrid International Seminar on “Challengesto Sustaining Water Storage in Indus Basin”
Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Engineering (CEWRE), University ofEngineering and Technology Lahore organized a hybrid international seminar on “Challengesto Sustaining Water Storage in Indus Basin”. The seminar was ttended by Prof. Dr. Habib ur Rahman (Deam Civil Engineering Department, UET Lahore), Engr. Khalid (VP Water and Agriculture Division, NESPAK), Engr. Yasir (Principal Engineer, NESPAK), Dr. Zahoor Tabassum (PD Diamer Basha Dam) and Participants from various organizations including WAPDA, Irrigation Department, Punjab University, International University of Wollongong, Australia, Turkey and CEWRE. In opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Habib Ur Rahman welcomed the participants of the conference and highlighted the main theme.
As a chair organizer of the event and Director, CEWRE, Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad Khan, highlight the vision, mission, success stories and struggle of CEWRE to train the water managers and researcher in the field of water resources. During the Speech, the resources person, Dr. Gregory L. Morris partner in GLM Engineering COOP, Puerto Rico, USA focused on the water resources management and reservoir sedimentation especially in Pakistan. He opined to consider integrated surface and ground water system for better sustainable management of water in the country. At the end of seminar, Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad Khan and Prof. Dr. Habib Ur Rahman presented shield to Dr. Gregory L. Morris and all audience have a group photo.
