Board of Governors’ meeting of the Centre of Excellence in Water Resource Engineering discussed important matters for improvement of the Centre

Vice-Chancellor University of Engineering and Technology, (UET) Lahore /Chairman Board of Governor, Centre of Excellence in Water Resource Engineering (CEWRE) Prof Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar chaired the 76th meeting of the Board of Governors (BOG) in the committee room of CEWRE.  

Director Centre of Excellence presented the progress of the Centre in 2022 in respect of research publications, students admitted, graduates produced, research projects submitted, indigenization of the water-related technology and patents submitted. The members appreciated the progress of the Centre and advised the modernization of infrastructure especially classrooms and offices in CEWRE.

 The BOG discussed important matters and adopted the Government of Pakistan notifications regarding the Revision of Basic Pay Scales & Grant Adhoc Relief Allowance-2022 @ 15%, Grant of Disparity Reduction Allowance-2022 for BPS 20-22, Revision of Basic Pay Scales & Allowances of Civil Servants of the Federal Government (2022), Protection of Pay of Gazetted Contract Employees on Regularization/Appointment on Regular Basis. The Board also approved a Revised Budget Estimate for the Years 2022-23.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad Khan Director CEWRE, as Member/Secretary; Prof. Dr. Habib ur Rehman, Dean, Faculty of Civil Engineering, UET., Lahore; Ms. Noshaba Awais, Director General (Research & Innovation Division), Higher Education Commission, Islamabad; Raja Muhammad Akhtar Iqbal, Joint Secretary (Policy), Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Islamabad; Dr. Jamshaid Mahmood Baig, Deputy Manager, TIC, Representative Pakistan Science Foundation, Islamabad, Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Chairman, PCRWR, Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Bakhshal Khan Lashari, Professor Emirates US-Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies in Water, Mehran Univ. of Engg. & Tech., Jamshoro, Dr. Nasir Mahmood Khan, Secretary/Registrar, Pakistan Engg. Council, Islamabad, and Engr. Shahid Hameed, Chief Engineer (E&HM), Wapda House, Lahore. Meeting ended with a vote of thanks to and from the chair.
