Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Chairman, Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) along with Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Vice-Chancellor, visited UET Center for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Research (CNAMR) on 12th September where he was briefed about the state-of-the-art research facilities of the Center and on-going training of faculty and staff by foreign experts. Prof. Dr. Shahid Rafiq, Dean Natural Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser, Director Students Affairs were also present at the occasion. Prof. Dr. Anwar Latif, Director, CNAMR and faculty welcomed Chairman PHEC and VC UET, and highlighted the facilities available at CNAMR for contemporary research in the field of nanotechnology and advanced materials. The Center has acquired a stat of-of-the-art Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) that is a pivotal tool in nanomaterials research and imaging for various applications such as electronics, membranes, composites, sensors, metals & alloys, solar cells and many more. Prof. Latif mentioned that the project would be completed soon with a total funding of Rs. 600 Million and modern equipment such as TEM, AFM, XRD are being acquired to establish a world-class research facility in the field of advanced materials. Prof. Khalid and Prof. Sarwar also appreciated the on-going high-quality training on this state-of-the-art modern equipment.
