UET and TU Dortmund University Germany to agree on research and academic exchange 26 October 2020

Department of City and Regional Planning (CRP) University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore and Technische University Dortmund (TU Dortmund) Germany signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the promotion of higher education and academic staff exchange. Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Dean Faculty of Architecture & Planning Prof. Dr. Rizwan Hameed, and Chairman City & Regional Planning Prof. Dr. Shaker Mahmood Mayo signed the agreement from University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore. On behalf of Rector TU Dortmund University Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Ursula Gather, Technische Universitat Dortmund Germany, Prorector Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Insa Melle and Dean of Faculty of Spatial Planning Prof. Dr. Thorsten Wiechmann, and Prof. Dr. Dietwald Gruehn signed the agreement. The two institutions will further exchange their scientific and cultural cooperation within the respective legal, financial, and administrative constraints by exchange of information and publication of mutual interest, exchange of teaching and research staff, exchange of students, three students, one academic semester each academic year, cooperation in research, and organization of study projects and workshops. This agreement is valid for three years which is further extendable with mutual consent of both parties. The ceremony was honored by Worthy Honorary Consul General Lahore of German Embassy Mr. Arif Saeed, Ms. Naureen Zaki from Annimarrie Schimel Haus Lahore, and Mr. Aamir Rafique from Goethe Institute Lahore. The Honorary Counsel General appreciated the role of UET Lahore as pioneer of Engineering and Technology education in Pakistan and vowed his support in further improving its role within Pakistan and abroad.
