The Embassy of Japan in cooperation with the MEXT Alumni Association of Pakistan (MAAP) Lahore Chapter organized Calendar Exhibition and oath taking ceremony at University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. Counsellor/Head of Culture & Public Information Section at Japan Embassy Mr. Ryuji IWASAKI accompanied by other distinguished guests participated as chief guest and inaugurated the two-day exhibition.
However, Dean Faculty of Civil Engineering Prof. Dr. Habib-Ur-Rehman, Dr. Touseef Aized, Dr. Neelum Naz, UET Professors graduates of Japan, faculty members and MAAP Alumni members also attended the ceremony.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Ryuji Iwasaki said, “the purpose of holding this Japanese calendar exhibition is to introduce various aspects of Japan to the people of Pakistan. The calendars put on display here, showcase a vibrant depiction of the Japanese heritage and cultural identity by reflecting images from traditional and contemporary arts, sports, automobiles, nature, heritage and architecture.” He also said that most of these calendars were printed on recycled paper which are a fine example of Japan’s efforts to be eco-friendly. Mr. Ryuji Iwasaki said, “Pakistani youth have fertile minds. They should get be benefited from Scholarship Offers because the doors of Japanese universities are always open for Pakistani students.”
