UET Literacy Society organized “33 rd All Pakistan Poetic Symposium

Literacy Society University of Engineering and Technology Lahore organized “33 rd All Pakistan Poetic Symposium (Mehfil-e-Mushaira)”. In this event many renowned poets across the country participated and presented their poetry in attractive and unique style for the enjoyment of the audience. Event was presided over by famous poet Anwar Masood, while Dr. Waheed Ahmad, Shaheen Abbas, Rehman Hafeez, Tayyab Raza Kazmi, Hameeda Shaheen, Faizan Hashmi, Tajamul Kaleem, Faisal Hashmi, Nusrat Sadiqui, Adrees Babar, Neelofar Afzal, Zia Mazkoor, Jawad Sheikh, Tehzib Hafi, Ali Zariyon and many other prominent poets delivered verse after verse of their best poetry.

 

Vice Chancellor UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Aziz Akbar Deans of faculties, teachers, administration along with large numbers of student witnessed the mushaira. At this occasion Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Aziz Akbar said, “Pakistan has a rich history of poetry and literature by which Mushaira is an important part.” He lauded the initiative and stressed that such cultural events must be encouraged. Poetry always represents the link between environment and human’s emotions and feelings. In this regard, UET use to organize this program every year which will remain continue in future to aware the public about the effective use of language and introduction of new ideas of changing world. At the end of the ceremony, the souvenirs were presented to the distinguished poets by Vice Chancellor UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Aziz Akbar.
