Renowned Religious Scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel Addresses at UET

Blood Donors Society (BDS) University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore organized a two days event titled “Light to Life 4.0” in campus. In this regards a mini hospital was established with the name of Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Anjum Late. Mini hospital continued its activities for two days. It was comprised of blood screening, thalassemia awareness, free eye checkups and awareness regarding more than 14 fatal diseases. At the closing ceremony renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel participated as chief guest. Vice Chancellor UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Aziz Akbar, Registrar Muhammad Asif, deans of faculties, heads of various departments, faculty members, employees and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Addressing a huge gathering, Maulana Tariq Jameel said, “we are Muslims and this identity is enough to our introduction. Islam is the religion of brotherhood, tolerance and peace. We should not divide ourselves into sects. The feelings of hatred in the name of religion are against the teachings of Islam. Cultivating no hater in our hearts is sunnah rather we should focus on building our character.” He further said, “We should not become promoters of violence. High moral values and forgiving others on their mistakes are our biggest assets.” He advised students to master their subjects to the extent that foreigners come to them to seek knowledge and knowledge could not flourish where there is violence. “We must respect every relationship and take care of our parents.” He added.

At the event Vice-Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Aziz Akbar welcomed Maulana Tariq Jameel in UET by saying, “This lecture has very significant importance for university students. Indeed, the success of the world and hereafter is on following the teachings of our beloved Prophet PBUH.” At this occasion Advisor BDS Mr. Arif Hussain said, “So far, the students of BDS have donated more than 40000 bottles of blood to serve the humanity. Which has been growing into a huge network day by day. This hard work and dedication of the students is a real proof of their service to humanity. They are working without any greed only to seek the pleasure of God.”

At the end of the event Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Aziz Akbar presented souvenir to Maulana Tariq Jameel and after that Public Relations Officer Mr. Ali Ashraf, Alumni Officer Mr. Zain ul Haq and Mr. Arif Hussain distributed appreciation certificates and shields to guests and organizers.
