Dr. Atif Javaid ( Associate Professor )
Dr. Atif Javaid (Associate Professor in Composite Materials, Polymer and Process Engineering, UET, Lahore) began his lectureship in Polymer and Process Engineering Department in March 2006 where he lectures on polymer composites. He did his Ph.D. in 2012 from Imperial College London in the area of multifunctional polymer composites. Since then, he has published different research papers on composites, including winning the Higher Education Commission’s NRPU funding in 2003 on multifunctional nanocomposites. His initial research focused on structural supercapacitors and structural lithium-ion batteries. He has supervised 10 MSc research students and one Ph.D. student. Over his ten years in the field, he has developed a reputation for high quality and innovative composites research, which has led to invitations to give a keynote lecture at different national conferences on Composite Materials and Energy. He is presently working on a broad range of research in polymer composites, including fire retardancy in polymer composites, green sustainable composites, structural lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors, and polymer nanocomposites based sensors and actuators.
