Muhammad Asghar Saqib did his Bachelor degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering from UET, Lahore in 1991.
Joined National Engineering Services Pakistan in June 1991 and worked in its Transmission Line section.
Joined Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) in May 1992. After a year of training was posted at Thermal Power Station, Muzaffargarh.
Obtained AusAID scholarship in 1993, and went to Sydney (Australia) for higher studies in February 1994.
Did Master of Engineering Studies in Electrical (Power) Engineering, from University of Sydney, in 1996.
Completed PhD in Electrical (Power) Engineering, from University of Sydney, in 1999.
Joined Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Topi (District Swabi), in November 1999 as Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Electronics Engineering. Became Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty in 2005.
Joined University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, in 2005 as Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering.
Promoted as Professor, on Tenure Track, in October 2017.
