Under the Prime Minister’s mission of “help of displaced persons”, Blood Donor Society of UET Lahore with the help of administration started raising of clothes and other items of daily use. In this regard a wall of kindness (Deewar-e-Meharbani) is established. Almost 500 students started campaign by collecting clothes, shoes and other things of daily necessities. Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmed Khalid and international image consultant Mr. Hamid Saeed participated in the event as chief guests. Talking to volunteers Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said, “Wall of kindness is a small step that brought a visible change in the society. Many people are spending their lives under poverty line; some of them even haven’t money to buy food. While others do not have clothes to wear. Wall of kindness is small step. Its indeed a great initiative by Prime Minister to provide shelter to homeless. University administration and students are fully supporting such wonderful initiatives. In first phase of this project we will collect basic utilities for homeless and them we will be delivering it to special camps for homeless arranged by government. Mr. Hamid Saeed said we should help neglected and challenged segment of society. Not only Pakistan but overseas nationals should national also support this great cause. Being dress designer, I feel this as great opportunity to serve my mother land. Whereas, students, teachers and other staff also pledged to donate their extra goods to the deserving people.
