University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore organized a combined entry test for more than 50,000 candidates, seeking admissions in different engineering universities of Punjab. Along with Lahore and Islamabad 13 test centers were established in different cities of Punjab to facilitate maximum students. Among 50000 students 13387 candidates in UET Lahore main Campus, 8000 in Multan, 6450 in Islamabad, 5544 in Faisalabad, 3251 in Texila, 3158 in Kala Shah Kaku, 3095 in Sahiwal, 2757 in Gujrat, 1875 in Rahim Yar Khan, 1756 in Bahawalpur, 800 in Mianwali and 528 in Rasul appeared in Entry Test 2018. The result of entry test is supposed to be declared on Sunday midnight 22nd July 2018. While the Answer key will be uploaded on website at midnight on test date. While talking to media, Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad khalid said “Merit, secrecy and transparency have been ensured in UET entry examination. Necessary arrangements for security of candidates have also been made”.
He further added “Considering requirements of CPEC project thousands of engineers from different fields & skilled labor will be in high demand in near future. That is why lucrative job opportunities are waiting for technological professionals”. Special sitting arrangement were also made for parents of candidates. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid visited examination center and appreciated administration for excellent arrangements. Candidates were very satisfied with the facilities provided by university administration.
For proper carrier counseling for the students, university administration is going to organize “Open Day” event on 5th August 2018. “Open day” will enable students to familiarize with the facilities available in university. It will also help them to choose proper engineering discipline favoring their aptitude.
